Careers Education
At Blowers Green Primary School, we believe that careers education begins with curiosity. From the earliest years, our children are encouraged to make meaningful connections between their learning and the wider world, helping them to dream big, achieve well, and aspire to a bright future.
Our Pre-Gatsby Careers Framework supports every pupil to develop an early understanding of the world of work and to see how their learning links to real-life opportunities. Careers education is not taught in isolation — it is woven throughout the curriculum.
Teachers make explicit links within their lessons, to bring learning to life and clearly demonstrate how subjects such as science, geography, art and computing connect to a wide range of future careers.
We are proud to nurture a culture of aspiration, where pupils are inspired by visitors and role models from both our local and wider community — including healthcare professionals, engineers, artists and entrepreneurs. Through our Junior Leadership Team, pupils take on purposeful roles that reflect real workplace responsibilities, developing important life skills such as teamwork, communication and organisation.
By linking careers learning with pupil leadership, we build confidence and raise aspirations, preparing our children to become responsible, resilient and ambitious members of society. By the time they leave Blowers Green Primary School, every pupil has explored a range of future pathways, including college, university, apprenticeships and employment, and understands that their goals and ambitions are achievable.
